I had to attend the the Urgent Care Unit at Tiverton Hospital due a skin infection around the site of a previous skin cancer operation. I was booked in swiftly at Reception and was asked to wash my hands at the mobile sink ( foot activated I finally realised) before going into the unit. I was the only patient in at that time and was triaged within a minute or two by a member of the team in PPE and returned to the waiting area, by this time another two patients had arrived. After about a 5 minute wait I was called to one of the examination rooms and my condition examined more closely, again by a member of staff wearing PPE. A line was drawn around the edge of the infection so I would be able to monitor if it was spreading and a course of antibiotics prescribed. As it was after 4 o'clock on a Sunday they supplied me with the antibiotics, otherwise it would have meant a wait until Monday morning before I could have started my medication. From the time I left home to the time l returned it was less than an hour overall, very impressive.
I praise the team for there care and wouldn't hesitate to go again even in these times of the dreaded Corona virus. Thank you all.
"A very professional and friendly team"
