Following a suspected diagnosis of Sepsis an ambulance was called by my 91 year old mother's GP. Two paramedics arrived and were very professional, caring and had a friendly manner. Straight away they said it wasn't sepsis but as my mother had a fast heartbeat and yellow tinged skin they decided that she needed to go to Barnet Hospital, their manner put her very much at ease. Then, taking care to place a mask on her face one of the paramedics helped her into the ambulance. They were so kind. Two wonderful people who travel a long way to get to their work (identity clue).
My mother was kept in A&E for tests and later taken to MSSU where she was given the best treatment and had a very thorough check over, remaining in their care for one week. The care she received and the kindness shown was wonderful. The Nurse I spoke to most mornings was very patient and helpful advising me of my mother's health from a nursing perspective. I was given updates from the Doctors, Family Liaison staff, therapists etc and they were all very pleasant. It's a shame I am not allowed to name them as they and the paramedics certainly gave my mother the best of treatment. I should add that my mother is very hard of hearing and suffers with Dementia which can sometimes make things difficult but they all showed great patience and kindness. Thank you all xxxx
