"My father"

About: Kingston Hospital / Cardiology

(as a relative),

My father was transferred to Bronte ward for end stage heart failure. He had severe breathing difficulties and the care he received was excellent. The doctors kept us informed with his treatment and discussed palliative care with us as a family. My father was in a side room and we were given privacy when we needed it. The room was clean and cool and quiet. Even the food looked and smelled nice! The nursing staff were polite and friendly and ultimately gave my father the care and respect he deserved at the end of his long life. Sadly he died after being in Bronte for five days but the palliative care team were there to support us.   My father spent a long time at another local hospital earlier in the year and did not wish to return there so when the ambulance came again he chose to go to Kingston - the last and wise decision he made.   Thank you Bronte ward.
