"End of life care covid 19"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital / Palliative care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I want to thank all staff involved looking after my mum from admission to the end of life. From the paramedics, SATA resus unit and ward 15 at the RAH. All staff where fantastic, supportive and informative with every step of my mum's care. I especially want to thank Lynne (who was my rock in the end), amanda, karen and STudent nurse Laura. All the staff where brillant and sorry I can not remember the names of everyone.

I also want to give thanks to Barbara the palliative care CNS who in the end made sure there was no pain or suffering. This has given me and my family great comfort.

As a nurse myself it was lovely to see above and beyond care in a time which bring pressures to us all. I would like to say all NHS staff are heroes but these people will hold a place in heart forever.

Thank you for your kind words - this type of feedback means a lot to the staff, especially at such a difficult time. I know that the Lead Nurse for Palliative Care in GGC is aware of your lovely comments and has passed them on to Barbara and the Palliative Care Team.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can be of any assistance.

Thank you again

Alistair

Dear Bigaal,

Firstly, please accept my sincerest condolences for the passing of your mother. I can only imagine how difficult a time this is for you and your family.

I want to thank you for your lovely feedback and kind words. Even as a fellow HCP, I imagine you're never prepared for such a time of going through end of life care with a loved one. The staff involved from our crew, to the staff in the hospital have clearly done a very personal job.

If you would like me to see if I can source the crew that transported your mother and pass on your thanks I would be more than happy to do so. Just email me at Scotamb.feedback@nhs.net with the date, time and address that we attended along with your mothers name. If you could also reference your CareOpinion username I would be very grateful as it makes it easier to reference the story.

Thanks again and I hope that you and your family all stay safe.

Kind Regards

Alan
