My 4 month old baby was involved in a car accident last weekend. I called the NHS helpline on the Monday morning to seek advice whether I should have her checked over by a doctor. They advised I should see a doctor within 2 hours. I did think this optimistic given the usual wait times at this practice but the operator reassured me I was priority & I had to be seen. It took me over an hour just to actually get through to anyone on the phone (!!) and then had to call several times to chase an appointment & nobody called me back all day. I finally was given an appointment of 5pm. When I explained the situation the receptionist really didn’t seem to care and just snapped there was already 9 people waiting for appointment. Luckily my daughter was ok but very stressful situation with a baby. Terrible service, I really hope it improves.
