"Stroke"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Lincoln County Hospital / General medicine

(as a service user),

My wife of 36 years had a stroke at home on Saturday at 7am. The paramedics came quickly and were marvellous. Ten days later and not a single phone call from the hospital to keep me informed or of progress. Have phoned the ward three times, the staff were lovely but all they could say was ‘stable, or ‘improving’. In light of the fact that visiting has been suspended because of Covid 19 I deserve more clarity and reassurance . Awaiting a call from the Consultant

Dear Bromley,

Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with me about our ambulance crew and I'm pleased they were able to help you both in your hour of need.

I do hope your wife will be on the road to recovery very soon.

If you are able, we would appreciate you sharing your comments with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team, with as much detail as you can (e.g. date, time and location), so that they might identify the crew who cared for you and share your words with them. You may contact them via telephone on 0333 012 4216 or email emas.pals@nhs.net.

Best wishes,

Brian Jaffrey
