"Wonderful Advocate"

In March 2020, I was admitted to the Burbage Ward at the Michael Carlisle Centre in Sheffield.

This was really a difficult and distressing time for me and I needed some help and advice. to understand my situation. My wife contacted Sheffield Advocacy Hub to arrange an advocate for me. 

I was contacted by a wonderful advocate called Muriel. Who immediately gave me hope and confidence that my situation would be manageable and not indefinite. This immediately relieved some of the stress and uncertainty of my situation, and I felt able to cope more readily with the circumstances that I was in.

Muriel gave clear, concise advice, informed me of my rights and helped me gain release from the hospital environment back into my home. 

The hospital experience was traumatising and I don't know how I would have coped without Muriel's help and support. I would highly recommend this service to anyone in this situation.
