"Fantastic service"

During a time when the NHS is under extreme pressure due to Covid-19, my 3 year old informed me he had put Lego up his nose! I took him to the MIU and sheepishly confessed that this had not been witnessed but the offending item was missing. I apologised for taking up their time. However, my son and I were seen quickly, in spite of them taking overflow cases from the Royal Surrey that day. All the staff were fantastic, friendly, professional and caring. All this while having to take all the extra precautions necessary at this time, which certainly is more time-consuming.

We were sent through to X-ray, where the radiographer was also incredibly patient and assured me there was no Lego in his nose or throat.

Instead of being sent home immediately, the nurse consulted the ENT registrar at RSCH, before coming up with a plan with me. I was given clear advice re what to watch out for, just in case the Lego had managed to sneak past his upper airways (highly unlikely given its shape/size and his lack of symptoms!).

Everyone we met had a smile on their faces, while working under immense pressure.

What a wonderful service we have here in Haslemere. We are so very lucky. Thank you to all the staff..
