I was patient for many years...However the doctor did not pick up my baby’s condition at 6 weeks check (heart murmur - baby has hole in the heart) I have only found out when I went private to see paediatrician with cold. I was also refused referral to cardiologist as doctor was still convinced there is nothing wrong with the baby and he was annoyed that I went private. Hospital NHS paediatrician and cardiologist both confirmed baby’s VSD. I have now changed practice.

First, I am sorry that your son heart murmur was not detected by myself. In the same time this murmur was not also detected by two paediatrics who examined your baby straight after birth and before being discharged home after birth.

When you saw me on 17/12/2018 I agreed to refer your son to paediatrician and a referral was done on 19/12/2018 as per our records.

Baby was initially seen by a private clinic and you told me verbally that a murmur was found hence you decided to see me.
