"Heart Attack"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Lincoln County Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I thought I was having a massive acid reflux attack, as I had chest pain & was burping. The chest pain intensity increased to a point where I couldn't take the pain anymore. My partner called 111 at 10am on Sunday. The ambulance arrived within 5 minutes. They correctly diagnosed a heart attack and scheduled a consultant to meet me at Lincoln's CCU (Coronary Care Unit)

I had 3 stents fitted before 1pm which is remarkable. The post operative report states that fitting was extremely good.

I spent 2 days in the Lincoln CCU and received wonderful care from many different people. The kindness and professionalism was outstanding.

Dear gsw5700,

Goodness me what a scare that must have been. Thank you so much for your feedback in what has been a very difficult time for you, and what will have been a very worrying time for your wife. We are really pleased to hear your experience was a positive one all round from the moment the ambulance arrived to the diagnosis, the operation, and being discharged after your stents.

We really do appreciate your feedback and I personally will make sure your comments are fed back to the team in CCU. We hope that you continue to improve and that at this difficult time you are assured that we pride ourselves in putting the patient at the centre of all we do,

Kind Regards

Pamela Beattie (Chaplain) Lincoln County Hospital.

Dear gsw5700,

Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with me. I am so pleased to hear you are well on the road to recovery and delighted that our ambulance crews were able to get to you so quickly to help you in your hour of need.

If you are able, we would appreciate you sharing your comments with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team, with as much detail as you can (e.g. date, time and location), so that they might identify the crew who cared for you and share your words with them. You may contact them via telephone on 0333 012 4216 or email emas.pals@nhs.net.

Best wishes,

Brian Jaffrey
