"My husbands care in the Enhanced Recovery ward"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary

(as a relative),

My husband was admitted to hospital in January and after being in a couple of very good wards he eventually ended up in ERAS where has been for the last few weeks

The staff on this ward are absolutely fantastic, from the domestic to the head nurse each and everyone of them has   made my husbands stay a good experience. They lifted his spirit when he was down they encouraged   him when he was fed up. They cheered him on, they laughed with him, they gave him tuff love when it was needed   and they really were fabulous.

Each and every one of them go above and beyond the realms of their duty and never at any time did I get the feeling that I was being a bother to them when I was asking questions or seeking advice from them, and on the couple of occasions   when my husband was really ill they gave me a cuddle and that in itself was heartwarming.

They made me copious cups of tea to keep me going they were brilliant to my family and no amount of thanks can repay them for all the kindness and consideration they have shown to us as a family if anybody deserves an award for the way their ward   is run then it is all the staff on this ward they are all a credit to the nhs and also to their profession and I would like to offer on behalf of my husband and family our sincere gratitude and thanks to them for a job brilliantly done keep up the good work girls

Hello Jellybean1952,

I'm sorry to hear of your husband's admission to hospital, I'm sure it must be a worrying time for you both. Thank you for taking the time to share your lovely feedback with us at this time.

It is wonderful to hear of the kindness and compassion that the staff have shown both you and your husband. It goes to show that the 'little' things like a cuddle or a cup of tea can make such a big difference to someone's experience.

Thank you so much for sharing your kind words with us - I will pass them on to the ward staff. I am sure they'll be absolutely delighted to receive them. It is always heartening to receive thanks from patients.

Wishing your husband a speedy recovery.

All the very best,

Rachel
