"Ignorant and hostile environment"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute)

Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic:

Initially, I did not want to leave any feedback because I did not want the outcome of the appointment to affect any future care from this clinic.

Invited to a hostile environment with one very aggressive nurse taking charge. The other nurse sat away, and tried to distance herself (and her opinions) as the first nurse lashed out. The nurse did not seem to have read the notes and had already made presumptions on several areas, including ethnicity (ethnicity is not always determined by place of birth). The first nurse kept pushing comparisons of two different ethnic backgrounds and suggested advice mainly centered around her own lifestyle options (eg. cycling). The lack of tact, nurture and communication skills from the nurse made the whole process uncomfortable from beginning to end.

I'd like to think it was a 'one off' incident, however the second nurse's behaviour seemed to suggest otherwise.
