Attending our 12 week scan an anomaly was picked up by the sonographer. Immediately they referred us to the Fetal Medicine Team at Kirkcaldy and we were seen the same afternoon, and subsequently referred to the team at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. What I can only describe as a nightmare situation finding our baby had a genetic condition that meant they were unlikely to survive to term we had the awful decision to make with the support of the Fetal Medicine team at Kirkcaldy.
We were admitted to the maternity ward the following weekend. We can not thank enough all those who cared for us from the midwives and sonographer at Dunfermline, Fetal Medicine Teams at Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh and the midwives on the maternity ward at Kirkcaldy. During a time of uncertainty and constant change with Covid 19 we were treated timely with care and compassion from everyone and can not fault the professionalism of staff. It allowed us get through an awful time in our lives with the quality of care we received. Thank you.
