"Good advice and plan for pre-diabetes"

I am 70, tall, slim and physically active and was very surprised to have been identified as being in high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes following a routine blood test. When I registered my concerns all staff were understanding, putting me at ease and offered valuable assistance. I declined the offer to take part in the Heathier You programme, but following advice, made significant dietary changes and stepped up my physical activity. Over the course of about a year, this resulted in a measure of weight loss and an appreciable reduction in my blood glucose level. I am very pleased with the service provided by the surgery and the results achieved and would encourage anyone finding themselves in the position I did to take the advice offered and act on it.
