About: Grove Village Medical Centre

I went to the surgery this morning for an emergency appointment @ 08.0 was told I have to see the nurse as my BP was 183/94/

pulse was 100. I am in a no win situation. if I go to hospital I have to wait for 5 hrs to be told to request the GP to review my BP treatment. if I go the nurse - I am told to see the DR and the receptionist will not give me an appointment I have to go back to see the nurse. I came in late to work and now have to ask to see the nurse @ 2.20 to be told to see the DR. the receptionist is not compassionate at all. I believe emergency appointments are given only if the nurse cannot see the patients High Blood Pressure is not an emergency!!!

I am sorry that you had a reason to complain. We offered you appointment at 10am with our nurse practitioner who can prescribe. She had a written plan from Doctor in your record and would have given you medication and advice if you had seen her.But you said you had to go to work.It is very difficult to see the patient there and then as doctors also have pre booked pateints

.I also noted that you did not attend your appointment same day at 2:20pm. We always see urgent cases on the day and provide excellent access to our patients. But we do need to follow system which is for everyones safety and convenience. We wish you all the best.

Best wishes
