My newborn daughter is now 2 weeks old and I just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff at the maternity hospital. We were admitted to labour ward at 5am on the Wednesday morning where Hollie looked after us until changeover at 7am. She got all my paperwork organised and gave me gas and air and anti sickness medication, which I'm so so grateful for! ! Then Ellen and student midwife Marina came on shift at 7am. The two of them were incredible. Both so friendly, chatty and approachable.
Student Marina did a lot of work and my baby - it was her 4th baby that she delivered if I remember rightly! I ended up giving birth at 12:22pm, Ellen and Marina were so supportive through it all, explaining what was happening and ensuring I was comfortable. The tea and toast afterward was the best I've ever had!
I was still on labour ward until that evening and there was nothing too much for the girls when it came to my recovery and teaching me what to do/how to look after my new daughter. They then took me to Ashgrove ward and made sure I was settled in before heading home from their shift. Massive thank you to Ellen and Marina, you two are absolute stars and a credit to your profession. Thank you for being so amazing and helping us welcome our daughter into the world! X
