Blue badge parking

(as a service user),

We have a blue badge for our daughter, we have a lot of hospital appointments, sometimes it can be very difficult to get a parking space in the blue badge space tho, on occasion including last week I have seen people without   blue badges using them. This is very frustrating as there are not a huge amount of blue badge spaces and often we have to drive around and around to wait for one to become available as we need that extra space for her chair and to get her in and out safely. On this occasion I asked at reception what could be done about this car and was told nothing as it is private. It is incredibly frustrating to see this happen again and again

Dear LJM21

I am sorry to hear about the difficulties you have had with finding a blue badge car parking space, the length of time this takes and the frustration this causes.

Car Parking is an issue on all our hospital sites, and we do have Car Parking Attendants, who issue Unauthorised Parking Notices if a blue badge is not displayed.

If you have any difficulty accessing a bay in the future please speak to a Car Parking Attendant (identifiable in high visibility jackets) and they will find a bay or make an individual arrangement for you to get to your daughter’s appointment.

I have also shared your post with my colleagues in Facilities.
