"Awful practice"

About: Chapelgreen Practice

I recently have had an operation to remove a cancerous tumor in my bowel. While the hospital treatment has been fantastic , the service at this surgery has been poor. Most of tge Gp's have been good, but twice I've called for test results to be given misleading information . Luckily I have a relative who is a GP , so have been pre-empted with questions to find out more info , and guide them to the correct conclusions!

I am now forced to go and find another surgery in the area, as the level of service is just unacceptable- and possibly life threatening! I've almost given up trying to get through by phone , as they rarely answer without a twenty+ minute wait, and usually walk there .

Today I went into the surgery to make an appointment , to be told that due to coronavirus no appointments could be made until next week. I completely understand that the surgery could be busier but I explained I'd had stomach pains in the area of my operation . To be told still , not something the surgery was interested in at this time , to Call 111 or go to the walk in centre. I was informed I may be able to get the triage nurse to call me in the morning, but I couldn't leave a message for her today . I had to take my chance of getting through in the morning(no chance). To top it all I had to announce my condition/symptoms to the entire waiting room, due to having to stand back from reception. Again understandable but pointless medically .

As soon as I'm able due to the coronavirus restrictions, I'll be off to another surgery .

Dear Patient

At the moment the Practice is following Public Health England and the Governments advice in relation to Covid-19 (Coronavirus) where in order to protect both patients and staff we have had to restrict foot fall to avoid any vulnerable person contact with this disease and to deal with Urgent care.
