"Outstanding treatment"

I attended Barlborough Hospital in March 2020 for a 1 day hip replacement on the NHS. I arrived at the hospital at 6 :30 a.m. By 10:30a.m. I had had the operation and was back on the ward having tea and toast and by 1:15 p.m. I was practicing walking, using a frame. I was discharged at 6:30 p.m. Unfortunately I was readmitted at 10: 30 p.m.as the wound was bleeding and I was having acute muscle spasms. However this was soon sorted out & I was discharged the next morning.

I cannot praise the staff enough - The consultant, the anaesthetists, the physios, the chemists, the nurses, the porters and the staff who served the food and drinks. They were professional, efficient, kind, helpful and above all they all had a sense of humour They all looked very happy in their jobs. I was in a ward with three other women and we spent most of our time chatting and laughing. The whole experience was uplifting. We were all given plenty of help and support and information before we were discharged. This is a brilliant hospital and a credit to the NHS.
