"Its good to see teamwork and happy, helpful staff"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Day Surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

My 4 year old son attended today for adenotonsillectomy under the care of Mr Simpson and registrar Gio.

From the moment we arrived we were kept fully informed of everything that was going to happen and rationale provided. All the nurses were knowledable, friendly and upbeat. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and they were very attentive.

Mr Simpson and Gio were very warm and communicated well with myself and my husband.

Anaesthetist Dr? Dunn was very thorough and had a lovely manner with my son.

I went into theatre with him to be anaesthetised and even the staff in there were very sensitive towards me and really put us both at our ease.

Discharge information and emergency advice given clearly and concisely and throughout our entire day there I can't fault anyone.

I'm a charge nurse although I never said but it's good to see great team work and happy, helpful staff doing a great job. There aren't many good NHS stories so it's important to give credit where it's due.

Dear Vik23

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your positive experience within the Day Surgery Unit when your young son was having surgery. It is great to get such positive feedback and the staff in Day Surgery will really appreciate this. I will also make sure that your feedback is shared with David Simpson, Gio and the surgical team.

I hope that your son is recovering well from his procedure

With very best wishes

Lynn McTavish
