"Emergency spinal surgery"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Neurology (Brain, Spinal and Nerves) Caithness General Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I was in my local hospital for 4 days, 2 discs crushed, lumbar spine canal narrowing. I was told I'd be going to Aberdeen for surgery but they sent me home because of infection in the ward. It's 8 weeks now. How long will I have to wait? I've had to wear a catheter since as its damaged my bladder and my bladder doesn't empty.

Update posted by Joycey (a service user)

It’s the waiting and not knowing what’s what, worrying about the operation, this pain, not being able to do things and this awful catheter, had a few floodings. I’m so depressed now. It’s 8 weeks.had to cancel my holiday. Frightened of anasthetic.
