I’ve been a service user for many years with numerous admissions to various units. I was referred for EMDR therapy in December 2018 by a consultant whilst on a unit. Although I’m still waiting for this to happen I was invited in December to attend a new trauma therapy group at Florence Ball House. I’ve attended an although it hasn’t changed the deep seated problems I have it has given me an insight into things which I find valuable. The physchologists running the group were compassionate, understanding and gave everyone the necessary time to talk and were always accessible by telephone. Although just a stepping stone I’d highly recommend anyone if invited to attend that they do so!
