"The staff were incredible"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

Our daughter had a severe case of infected chicken pox and was really ill with a high fever and increased heart rate. We were sent to the children’s A&E at Whipps Cross and they admitted her. We moved to the Acorn unit late at night and the staff were incredible. They were kind and gentle to our daughter who was terrified. The treatment was fast and effective and every person we dealt with from the nurses to doctors were friendly, caring and supportive. Our daughter recovered quickly in their care and didn’t want to leave!

This is a unit of dedicated care givers who all work incredibly hard.

Thank you. It really meant the world to us.

Dear Mum

Thank you for this wonderful account of your daughter's visit. We will ensure that we pass your compliment to A&E and the wider team on Acorn ward. As you say, the personal touch and connection is key, and sometimes simple things which may not be immediately obvious when you are close to the situation, can make a huge difference. Thank you for taking the time to post your comment here. It will be a boost to all those involved in supporting you and your daughter to reach her optimum

Kind regards

Central Complaints Team
