"The appointments system."

I have attended this surgery for many years. Over these years I have noticed a deterioration in my ability to make an appointment with a specific or indeed non specific doctor within a reasonable time scale. This has culminated in a 4 week lead time in order to see my doctor for a double appointment.

Furthermore, when I tried attending the walk in surgery on Thursday morning 27th of February 2020. I was told that this was fully subscribed and there were no more appointments available. I suspect that this practise of restricting the walk in appointments is not widely known especially in the light of the fact that one has to turn up at the surgery in order to "register" for the walk in surgery. Relatively easy for me as I have a car not so convenient for some. In fairness I was offered a walk in slot in the afternoon.

In your surgery there is a notice decrying the abuse that some people in the NHS are experiencing. while I completely agree that the front line troops doctors, nurses and receptionists for instance should not be subjected to any verbal or physical abuse, I completely understand that the frustration and downright anger of some patients will spill over into disbelief at the lead times on offer. This is not a criticism of the medical services but of the "organisation" behind these services.
