"Thoughtful and kind."

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

My husband was admitted on Wednesday 15th January and died on the 25th. All the staff were kind, thoughtful and eager to help us all during a difficult time. Please pass on my thanks to everyone in the stroke unit.

Dear Gillian,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely piece of feedback at your time of sadness; please accept our belated, but nevertheless genuine, condolences as this must still be a terribly difficult and upsetting time for you.

The Trust strives to provide all patients with a high standard of care and treatment, underpinned by the values of kindness, compassion, dignity and respect, and we are very pleased that you found staff to be compliant in these values during your husband’s final days. We are also pleased to note from your feedback that staff were kind and thoughtful in their support of you and your family, as this must have been a great source of comfort, and an assurance of their commitment to providing quality of care.

We will of course share your feedback with the staff on the Stroke Unit at Eastbourne Hospital as requested, and are confident they will be touched by the kindness and generosity of your words. You are in our thoughts at this time Gillian, and we send you our very best wishes.
