"An amazing level of support"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / General medicine Specialist Therapy Services / Community Stroke Team – South Notts

(as the patient),

I suffered a stroke on and was admitted to the Stroke Unit at Nottingham City Hospital at about 11:00 in the morning. I have no clear memory of when I first came into contact with a member of the community stroke team but whenever it was my feeling up to that point had been that I was in the hands of a very caring and efficient nursing team. When I met the first member of the community stroke team on a general stroke ward on day 2 of 3 I remember being impressed by the man who took my details. I didn't realise then that I would be passed into the care of the Community stroke team on my discharge from the City Hospital. We would like to place on record our thanks to all of the team  (particularly Natalie, Gavin and Eve) who worked with us on rehabilitation, they were very caring and provided an amazing level of support

Thank you for sharing your experience and telling us about the good care you received at the stroke unit at Nottingham City Hospital. This is wonderful feedback and I will pass this on to the nurses. I am pleased to hear that you also received such good care from our colleagues in the community stroke team Nottingham West and I hope they will also see this comment from you and receive your thanks.

Wishing you well in your recovery

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback regarding your experience of the Stroke Unit at NUH and the Community Stroke Service. The team always strive to offer the best service they possibly can and this feedback is fantastic.

It is really important to us that our patients, families and carers let us know how well / or not we are doing in order that we shape the delivery of services to become as patient /family/carer centred as we can.

We are very pleased to hear that you found our in-reach role beneficial, we feel this improves communication and helps smooth the transition from acute to community.

We are also very pleased that you found the level of support to be amazing. I will pass on your thanks for the team and specifically Natalie, Gavin and Eve whom you have mentioned.

We wish you a continued recovery and all the best for the future.

Thank you so much.

Claire Lee
