I usually tend to avoid going to the doctor unless I have exhausted other possibilities ( ostheo/ acupuncture/ self medication).
I was enable to get an appointment with my GP and was given an appointment over the phone for later today. I was very happy to get an appointment on the same day and I was looking forward to get some help.
My appointment lasted 4 minutes, the doctor didn't look at my back even though I was complaining about it. He asked me to bend which I did. I explained to him that I have had an history of slipped disc and sciatica and that I was very worried about all these symptoms.
He didn't reassured me at all and said that there is nothing to do unless these symptoms last for 6 weeks.
He gave me the name of a medecine which I knew and I had qn entire box with me. I said to him that the box dated from my first onset of sciatica but i didn't used them at all as the medecine didn't agree with me ( I didn't remember why. He assumed it was because my previous doctor didn't prescribe me anything for the stomach????
I left the surgery feeling really upset and left feeling silly to have come and rushed out of work for that.
That doctor was rude, unhelpful, dismissing all my worries as it was silly of me to worry.
For some of you who have experienced back pain, chronic pain I hope you understand how upsetting it was for me
"Horrible 4 minutes"
