"Inaccurate communication"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a service user),

I recently had an ENT appointment cancelled.   This is completely understandable as it was because of unexpected clinician absence. However, when my rebooked appointment was sent to me, the letter clearly states that the appointment had been moved at my request. I am concerned this may mean that waiting times are not been correctly recorded as a result.   As I am awaiting investigation for a possible cancer, the move from a five week wait to a ten week wait is significant and needs to be recorded and reported accurately.

Dear LGrm

Thank you for raising your concern regarding the recording of your cancelled appointment. Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to determine how the cancellation has been recorded without any patient identifiable information. I would be more than happy to review this for you if you contact me directly with your personal details; my contact number is 01382 425524.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Jo Cowburgh

Clinical Care Group Manager
