(as a relative),

Just want to pass on a massive thank you to all the staff on D56. Unfortunately my uncle Stephen only came to you on the end of life pathway,   but you all made it a little bit easier for him and my family. He was the most comfortable and peaceful we had seen him in a long time, and you took time out from your busy day to ensure he was settled and my family understood everything that was happening. It was dignified and very respectful, exactly what he would have wanted. For that we will be eternally grateful! we didn't catch names but a particular thank you to the charge nurse that was on shift 20/02/20. Without the staff that were there, it would have been an even harder day for them all! Thank you so much! From a fellow nurse unfortunately on the other side x x

I’m sorry to hear of the passing of your uncle and pass on my sincerest condolences. I am hugely grateful that you have taken the time to get in touch with us at this difficult time. We very much appreciate your kind words and are pleased to know that the care he received from the staff on Ward D56 gave him comfort and peace. I am pleased that you and your family were kept well informed with what was happening and felt truly supported. I have shared your very kind feedback with the team who all wish you and your family well.

Best wishes

Joanne Stevens
Ward Manager, D56
