"Elderly mother"

About: Cricket Green Medical Practice

(as a relative),

I would never register another elderly relative with this practice. The duty of care for the elderly they've demonstrated has been shambolic! My mother suffered so much so, that in the end, I registered her with my GP practice, who were amazing with her care ...and with many home visits!!

At the beginning of December 2019, my 82 year old mother had a fall at home, and hit her head, she called the surgery for help, only to be told they would send someone round from the pharmacy with Paracetamol.  That evening, my mother was admitted to hospital.    The doctor in A/E was not impressed with any of her medical care she had been receiving from this practice.   I sent an email to the practice as I was confused why they would send someone from a pharmacy to her home with paracetamol?  I received a reply from the practice stating that the matter would be given urgent attention and would be in touch as soon as it had been discussed further with parties concerned.   Well, it’s now February 2020 and I’m still waiting....

This used to be an excellent surgery, and the care my mother received was outstanding.  Now, I believe it’s not fit for purpose, so much so, I’m going to write to NHS England, recommending an inspection is much needed, giving my reasons in more detail.
