"The approach seems very attractive and user friendly"

About: Inclusion Isle of Wight

(as a service user),

Have been around the block as service user many times.   Have always found case workers sympathetic and helpful if a little overworked and under-resourced.   The 'inclusion' approach seems very attractive and user friendly because so much is peer led.   I look forward to building my effective recovery and even giving something back.

Thank you so much for your feedback foxtrotsf59. A lot has happened since you wrote this across the Country!

We are really pleased to hear that you have had positive experiences and that you have benefitted from interacting with people with lived experience in our hub. Since Inclusion arrived in the IOW community service in December 2018 we have really tried to build the recovery culture in the hubs and in the community. Evidence tells us this is the right way, and we have embraced this with the fantastic Service User reps and Volunteers we have.

Things have changed quite dramatically with the arrival of COVID-19 but we are working hard to capture and build our recovery culture in different ways in socially distanced groups, walking groups, community one to one's, virtual groups and out and about in the community.

You are correct that resources are tight in a service such as ours and funding has been gradually decreasing over the past decade. In answer to this we have changed our staffing structure over the past 6 months to allow us to be as responsive as possible to the people who use our service. Inclusion IOW belongs to the community and we encourage people to get involved in our service user voice meetings each week and there is also a thriving volunteer program which people from all backgrounds can take part in. There is comprehensive training and support available and lived experience is knitted through the fabric of the service. Ask your Recovery Worker for more details.

Thank you so much for your feedback and we look forward to seeing you soon.
