My family live near Paisley so use the RAH regularly.
We often spent time in the cafe or waiting around for clinics. There are lots of "garden" type areas which can be seen from the wards, clinic areas and corridors. These are in a sorry state, overgrown and neglected, which is dispiriting for patients and visitors alike. We are constantly told how much a garden can help in recovery or therapy.
There are huge areas of grass which must take an enormous amount of upkeep and I do appreciate what it takes to keep a garden tidy. I wondered if there is a group within the hospital who deal with this and if so, can I help?
Last autumn my mother-in-law was admitted with an infection and we visited daily for 5 weeks. The staff were kind and considerate throughout. It would be a help to me if I could repay some of the kindness shown by staff and other patients. Can you put me in touch with whoever has responsibility for these areas?
