"Discontinued service"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

The excellent former system of obtaining hearing aid batteries has been abandoned. Instead of the patient being able to pop into the hospital when convenient and pick up batteries at the front desk - a matter of minutes, it is now necessary to make arrangements, including taking time off work, to attend at certain times on specific days, park the car at the usual outlandish cost, take a ticket and wait in the clinic. This wait can be for over an hour, after which the patient then has to waste the time of the technician and also the time of the other patients in need of the services of a technician. We understand that this change is an instruction of the commissioning group but surely there is a Chief Executive, someone paid very handsomely to be in charge of running the hospital and with the authority to challenge this ludicrous situation? It is a waste of resources for the patients, the hospital and the country. No wonder the N.H.S. is on its knees.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I will pass your information over to the team to see if we can do anything about this new system. It does appears from your review that it doesn't seem to flow as smoothly as the old service.

Thank you for letting us know and we will see what we can do.
