"Cancelled appointment's, No phone Calls , No…"

About: Westcourt Medical Centre

This surgery used to be great however the experience I have had this year is awful. I was diagnosed over a phone call whilst as work with polycystic ovary syndrome and a cyst in ovary. Which left me in tears as I had been trying to conceive and unanswered questions. Every question I asked about my condition I was told that is a question for the hospital so I had to wait until I had my hospital appointment and do my research online and find out what PCOS was for myself and how I could make it better. This year I started taking a new medication which the hospital suggested who were fantastic and so understanding of the situation. However my body hasn't reacted to the new medication very well so an appointment with my doctors has been booked and cancelled 3 times.. I have had to take days of work as I work in Portsmouth for my appointments to then get told they are cancelled again. I came out in a rash all over my body with abnormal pain was told to see a pharmacist which I did and they were shocked that I was told to go to them over abnormal pain. Phoned doctors again asked for a call as couldn't get an appointment heard nothing back. Phoned NHS 111 as I was getting worse they were fantastic said they would call my doctors for me and send over all my info once again heard nothing back. Stopped taking the medication and was going to ask for a slow release one however appointment was cancelled again on the day. So now I am on no medication. I am meant to be having blood tests to see if the medication has helped which then goes to the hospital for review to help with my fertility which is a very sensitive process for a girl. So at the moment I have no medication my blood tests will be a waste of time and the NHS will need to change my hospital appointments because the surgery hasn't done what they have needed to do. The whole sensitive matter is now going to take longer and my fertility treatment is unimportant to them. I understand doctors are busy which is why all my appointments have been booked weeks ahead and I have booked times of work. However it seems I am never going to receive a call or have the medication I need and the appointment to discuss my fertility. I hope the hospital who are even more busy are able to change my appointments to fit in with my doctors schedule.

I am sorry to hear of your recent encouters and certainly understand your frustrations with the situation you've described. I would like to investigate your experiences fully but I cannot look further into this without knowing your name and the date you experienced the issues you've described. If you can contact the surgery, we can open a complaint file for you and investigate properly. Whilst we understand that patients may want to give anonymous feedback about poor service they receive, sadly it does not help us to learn from our mistakes, so I would be grateful to hear from you. Please do contact our Patient Services Team Lead who would be very happy to discuss your concerns with you.
