"1st class service! Hyper Acute Stroke Unit C…"

About: Southampton General Hospital

Shame I cannot mention people’s names as I went to great trouble remembering them! At 57 years old I was mobile & alert enough due to a mini stroke (MRI confirmed) a day or so earlier, to not request too much from the Medical staff. Although more mobile than most patients I still felt that I received brilliant service from everyone I came into contact with from the cleaners, the catering staff and all the Medical staff, including MRI,CT and Neck Doppler scan staff! Also the Drs/Consultants were pleasant and easy to understand (bearing in mind my lack of medical knowledge). The ward was clean, practical and user friendly - still wouldn’t want to be a Nurse though - 12 hour shifts with patients who can’t move and/or talk and visitors who want their patient dealt with first in spite of others patients - marvellous caring staff with bags of patience!
