"Exemplary Practice!"

Arrived at the Endoscopy unit on Friday. I was extremely anxious as the procedure I was about to have had failed two weeks earlier in another unit. From the moment I entered the unit I was put at ease. From the reception staff to the admin nurse I was kept fully informed of what was to take place in a calm and reassuring manner.

Once into the area where the procedure was to take place I couldn’t have been with a more efficient and supportive team. They were amazing! Creating a calm yet informative atmosphere. Reassuring with explanations of what was to take place.

When the procedure was completed the after care was great too. Gentle conversations of what would happen next. It was evident that the nursing team worked closely together and this had a wonderful effect on patient care and well being. So important.

After a welcome cup of tea and a sandwich I was able to rest.

Then followed the report given fully with sensitivity and recognition of what had taken place and the next steps.

I cannot thank the staff enough. Well done everyone in the Endoscopy unit! You are fantastic.
