"Professional and kind staff"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I attended University Hospital Wishaw in the early hours recently in excruciating pain (later diagnosed as kidney stones). I was taken through to triage very quickly. The doctor and nurses on duty who attended to me were all very professional, kind, compassionate and friendly. They administered pain relief and obtained bloods and at all times explained everything and were very reassuring. The doctor gave me a probable diagnosis and once the pain had settled, arranged for me to return at 9am for CT that confirmed her initial diagnosis.

The whole experience (whilst being in such a distressed state) was fabulous thanks to the professionalism and kindness of the staff. They did introduce themselves but unfortunately I cannot remember their names  however I would like to thank them wholeheartedly for their care and compassion.

Dear AudG,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your experience during your visit to the ED. I will ensure this information is passed onto the Senior Charge Nurse to share with the team.

I am sure they will all be delighted to read your kind words and comments on their kindness, care and compassion.

I hope that everything is settling and you are improving.

Best wishes

Andy
