"Extremely professional and friendly staff"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / General Surgery (Wards 16-18)

(as a service user),

I was admited to Ward 18 (surgical recieving) on 6th Feb after midnight due to stomach probs.

The nurses who admited me could not have been any nicer or welcoming.

I was very ill and tbh scared but they soon made me feel alot less apprehensive and very much in capable hands. The porter too couldnt be more friendly or professional.

The day shift were no different.

Extremely professional and friendly. Everyone i had contact with, nurses, domestics, radiographers, porters and doçtors made my stay as comfortable as possible.

Everything was explained well and because i was feeling so ill i wasnt very helpful when it came to being examined. But they all took their time to help and let me do things in my own time.

Wishaw General and the residents of South Lanarkshire is lucky to have such wonderful people working there.

Thankyou very much. We might not have gotten to the bottom of whats causing my problems yet but ive no doubt they will in due course through outpatients.

Dear Stumpweasle

Many thanks for taking the time to post your experience while on ward 18 and ward 16.

The staff will be delighted to read your kind words around their care and professionalism and this will be passed onto the teams.

I hope that this finds you feeling better and you are recovering well.

best wishes

Andy
