"Felt ignored, room mixups and double booking vaccinations"

About: The Sandringham Practice

(as the patient),

At this point I had been having really bad nose bleeds for 2 week so decided to book an appointment at local doctors clinic. Upon arrival my name popped up on screen went to said room, knocked on door and entered this was whilst someone was already in appointment, I felt embarrassed and they looked at me like I had just took it upon myself to walk in so I went back to reception and told them, no apology issued just laughed it off they asked all my details and sent me to the correct room. When I got to the correct room I knocked and again went in (5 mins after my appointment time at this point) and was told that she had not sent for me and to wait in the hallway which I did for another 5 minutes. After explaining the situation with my nose bleeds the nurse practitioner took my blood pressure and BMI then said they were common at this time of year and it was more than likely a scab in my nose but I would get them whilst driving and whilst working so I knew it was not a scab but just got told this was more likely. After this appointment, she checked my file and told me I was due for measles, mumps and rubella vaccination and booked there and then. I arrived for my vaccination today after booking the day of work only to be told by a different nurse that there had been a mistake and I had already had it in 1998 and did not require another one. Aside from a loss of earnings by booking the day off it was a wasted appointment that could have gone elsewhere and could have been easily avoided if a job was done correctly in the first appointment with the nurse practitioner.
