"Very good practice "

About: Nightingale Valley Practice

I have always had a positive experience when attending the surgery.

The doctors are highly professional and my needs are always resolved.

However, one daunting thing is being asked by the receptionist, what my ailments were when making an appointment.I did not want to have a conversation regarding my condition in front of a packed waiting room.

Thank you for your comments - I am so pleased to see you have had such a great experience with the doctors.

Our receptionists are asked by the clinicians to take a brief reason when booking an appointment to ensure they are booked with the correct person; the clinician can get prepared in advance, for example, if additional equipment is required; and to allow clinicians to triage in order of medical urgency when they are on call.

I can appreciate this may be a difficult question to answer, especially when at the reception desk and our team will respect your right to not disclose this information. It can just be helpful for the above situations.

With very best wishes,

Emma
