About: University Hospital Hairmyres / General Surgery (Ward 5)

(as a service user),

Recently discharged from ward 6.

Nurses were excellent, very attentive. 

Hostess was very nice, always had a chat. 

Food was passable.

Rehab staff were great, arranged equipment for me at home. 

Dr's arranged follow up.

Dear In-patient stay2020

I am glad to hear that you have now been discharged. I will pass your comments on to the ward hostess.


We welcome feedback from patients always in all aspects of the service we provide. It is not always possible to meet everyone's tastes in food always. we vary the menus as much as possible. Patient have the opportunity to speak to a member of the catering team around any issues that they may have with meals.

Dear In-Patient Stay 2020

Thank you for your recent post on patient care opinion. I was delighted you had a very positive experience whilst in Ward 6. The staff in Ward 6 strive to deliver the best person centred care to all our patients. This then ensures a positive experience and organisation of discharge home.
