I was brought to hospital following a private scan due to spotting/bleeding and as I'd had previous early miscarriages in a row prior. The scan showed a live ectopic in my fallopian tube and after another scan at Wishaw to confirm same I was taken for Laparoscopy and Salpingectomy surgery. My consultant Dr. Kumar was so amazing and kind and explained it all alongside one of the nurses who was assisting with the scan. I was absolutely petrified of imminent rupture and dying and the whole team involved in my surgery were very reassuring throughout, one nurse in particular held my hand while I was put under general anaesthesia and was there when I woke up she was great at keeping me calm. Back in the gynaecology ward I would also like to say how understanding the nursing staff were as due to bed shortages I was unable to have my own private room, which was normally the case after such surgery. They allowed me to keep my curtains closed to avoid me feeling exposed and vulnerable while I recovered the next day as I was very upset and in a 5 bedded bay with other, mostly older women.
Thank you so much for all of your kindness and support through one of the most traumatic and upsetting times of my life, it won't be forgotten. Keep doing what you are all doing!
"Keep doing what you are all doing!"
