"At no point was I told it's a 10-12 month waiting list"

About: Bromley Healthcare / Talk together Bromley (IAPT)

(as a service user),

I went to my GP in July and because of ongoing physical health problems (restricting me from working) I told them I had been having suicidal thoughts. I was then passed a business card and told to contact and “self refer” to Talk Together Bromley. So I did. Well, 6 months later and I am still yet to speak to anybody or have any sort of help. I have had two phone assessments (second one was only because I filed a complaint after not hearing anything for 4 months) and was told I was on the waiting list but no indication of how long this would be. Today (6 months after my self referral) I was informed it’s a 10-12 month waiting list. At no point was I told this. Even when the Duty Manager called to apologise.

I think it’s disgusting. When you are in a bad place it takes a lot to “self refer” in the first place. Then to be forgotten by the system for months at a time is diabolical.
