"Awful practise"

About: Carepoint Practice

I Have been registered here more than 10 years and the practise has gone downhill completely. Drs will do anything they can to avoid seeing you including young children. Receptionists ask intrusive questions to avoid drs even having a phone consultation. If you do manage to get an appointment you are told you will see a dr and instead are booked in with the paramedic - I have experienced this myself as an adult and for my children under 7! It’s ridiculous. Substandard care with very minimal patient-dr interaction. I have resorted to going private and agreeing to allow the receptionists to write my referrals on behalf of the dr as per their “strong” advice . Am I comfortable discussing very private information with a receptionist?NO. Will I continue to stay at this practise knowing that they would rather book my children in with a paramedic or prescribe medication over the phone without a consultation to my children? NO

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that we were unable to meet your expectations. Throughout Hillingdon all GP Practice front line staff have been trained in Clinical Signposting to help correctly route patients to the most appropriate point of care. As part of this, patients may be asked questions to ascertain what the problem is, how long it has been present, how it is affecting you and what you have done to manage the problem. If from the history it is clear that a GP appointment is required, then one will be given. The Community Practitioner is fully trained in assessing unwell patients in the community, as well as managing chronic conditions such as musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions. Where a child is acutely unwell, if antibiotics are indicated these are only prescribed following a face to face consultation with a clinician and not over the phone.
