"Experience of appalling treatment"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

My father was taken to the accident emergency department after a fall

He was essentially abandoned for over 7 hours

The staff failed to do any assessments, provide even basic communication despite asking

The duty manager who the trust applaud themselves on being very good at resolving issues chose not to come when requested

The only time the staff came was when after my dad collapsed in the main waiting area

But it was the other patients and visitors who helped not the staff

This experience in this department was unsafe and inadequate, it is shameful that the people of lincoln have to put up with this

Dear losss of faith

I am truly sorry for your dads recent experience in Lincoln ED. This is not the level of care I would expect anyone to receive in the department.

If you would be happy to provide your dads details I will happily investigate this further so that I can address the staff involved to prevent this happening again. If you do feel able to share, could you please contact our PALS team who will pass the details over to me. PALS can be contacted via PALS@ulh.nhs.uk or 01522 707071.

Please accept my apologies, I wish your dad all the very best

Many Thanks

Elaine Turrell

Update posted by Losss of faith (a service user)

Thank you for your response

In answer to your question yes I have made contact with PALs via the phone and then at their request by e mail with contact details etc

The was two days ago and I have heard nothing

My concern is that this incident is not isolated but has become institutionally acceptable
