My mother has mild dementia, she fell down her stairs at home. Carer "Joanne" from West Dunbartonshire Homecare found her, called Ambulance, administered first aid and undoubtedly saved her life. Paramedics obviously provided brilliant immediate care and even spoke with me (daughter / Carer) on phone to calm me and direct me to correct Hospital. Arrived QEUH, Resuscitation Area, Consultant Hannah led her team efficiently, expertly and provided both Mum and me with dignified compassionate care. Transferred to QEUH Critical Care HDU 6 where for 2 days she was Nursed by knowledgeable, professional but most importantly caring Team of brilliant staff. Nothing was too much trouble and their calm, patient approach meant Mum felt safe; she wants every single Nurse to be thanked. Consultants of many specialities helped so much; special thanks to them. I don't think the QEUH deserves the negative publicity it often seems to get in the papers / TV. From Cleaners, Porters to Nurses and Doctors we have received nothing but kindness and excellence. Thank you for all that you do every day for every patient and relative.
"Kindness and excellence"
