"Made a very difficult situation bearable"

About: St Mary's Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I’ve been on this ward twice, once following a laparoscopy and again for management of a miscarriage. The nurses really were angels, they really looked after me well and understood the emotional and physical pain I was in. At one stage they thought I had sepsis and took the necessary steps to deal with it. I felt loved and cared for by the nurses at St Mary’s. They made a very difficult situation bearable.

Thank you for your positive comments posted on the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion website regarding your care on Ward 62 /63 at Saint Mary’s Hospital. It was very kind of you to take the time to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff. The Trust has introduced a Behavioural framework called ‘Together Care Matters’ within which all members of the nursing and medical teams practice so it was reassuring to read that the nursing team providing care were able to make you feel supported, cared for and reassured at such a difficult time. I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to Dr Rohna Kearney, Clinical Head of Division for Gynaecology and Mrs Catherine Bartlett, Head of Nursing who will be pleased to share your feedback with Sister Laura Partington, Ward manager for Ward 62, and the extended team. We wish you well for the future.

Mrs Karen Connolly

Chief Executive Officer Saint Mary’s Hospital Managed Clinical Services.
