About: Granby Care Home

My elderly relative was sent here from a hospital stay, no consultation with family beforehand despite next of kin being in their 80's and living much closer to Townsend Hub. Not here long as they were readmitted to hospital.

There was no privacy for visits. just a very small area with tables and chairs so close together you could hear everyones conversation, and with many elderly people having some hearing loss, visitors had to get louder and louder to make themselves heard over other conversations. There was a large lounge adjacent which was empty except for two residents and a television with the sound up high. The rest of the residents were squeezed into a small and very hot room. When I asked why I was told 'they'll be going for their tea soon we put them to wait here' it was 3pm.

Tried to speak to a member of staff who asked me to wait a minute and never returned. Impossible to get them to answer phone. Having seen my relatives room I am not satisfied with hygiene level. I would not recommend this place
