"Extremely rude staff and midwives"

About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

Midwives here are extremely rude. I have had 3 midwife appointments so far with 3 different people and i am describing the most horrible one. She was extremely judgemental, patronising and aggressive. She commented on what i was wearing and told me not to wear fancy dresses to the appointment when it was a £20 dress from Zara! It was a loose dress which i specifically wore for the appointment. I am already feeling mental and economic pressure with maternity clothing and did not need to hear that comment in a medical appointment. I asked her a question about my weight and she got extremely aggressive. My friend has recently had pregnancy complications due to her pre-pregnancy weight and i am very worried about it myself. The NHS website states that asians with a BMI of greater than 23 are at an increased risk and the midwife just went on a rant, she very rudely told me to stop reading "all these websites". It was NHS's own guidelines i was referring to! She started yelling at me saying "Are you trying to teach an NHS midwife?" When i was merely asking a question on a topic i am scared about to get some help. She even said at one point that she is going to write a book about what midwives have to go through and i will feature in it. All of her unnecessary comments made me feel extremely uncomfortable, insulted and afraid to ask her anything. Me and my husband were silent after i asked the initial question due to her aggressive behaviour and only responded to questions she asked. This is not how anyone should speak to another person, except in this case it was a professional mandated to deal with pregnant women!

I also had a similar 20 week scan bad experience as someone else has described a few reviews below.
