"Cyst"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I noticed I  had a lump growing on my right cheek  directly under my eye in early september of 2019. A little later during an appointment at my GP surgery I mentioned to the medical practitioner of my concerns its rapid growth etc I was informed it was nothing to worry about just a cyst.

Within a fairly short time I again visited my GP surgery and yet again mentioned the growth which was becoming prominent by now. It was decided to send me for a specialist examination in case the growth was cancerous. The examination results were negative which was a relief.  I requested via my GP Surgery that the cyst be removed but was told that they had a response saying my request was refused.

Since then the cyst has expanded it has become smelly, sore and painful  last weekend my face, lips became very swollen closing my right eye etc. On the monday  I made an emergency appointment to see the medical practitioner. Upon examination it was  diagnosed that the cyst was badly infected and it was directly infecting my face, eye etc antibiotics prescribed to be taken immediately.  So far the antibiotics have not worked  my eye has become  painful. I am worried I could lose the sight in that eye due to the infection what can I do?.
